Yes. The Free Plan has no hidden charges. It’s designed for evaluation users and small teams with limited needs (up to 100 assets). You can explore all essential asset management features.

Can I switch plans later?
Yes, you can switch plans at any time. We've made it easy to upgrade or downgrade your subscription based on your changing needs:
- Upgrading: When you upgrade to a higher plan (for example, from Free to Pro or Premium), the changes take effect immediately. Billing is automatically prorated, and you’ll only be charged the difference for the remainder of your current billing cycle.
- Downgrading: You can downgrade your plan at any time — such as moving from Premium to Pro. The downgrade will take effect at the end of your current billing period to ensure you retain all active features until renewal.
- Free to Paid: Moving from the Free Plan to any paid plan (Pro, Premium, or Enterprise) instantly unlocks additional features such as data backup, technical support, and increased asset/user limits.
- Team to Individual: If your organization decides to switch from a team-based plan (Pro, Premium, or Enterprise) to an individual account, you can manage this from the billing settings. Please note that team-based features such as role permissions, shared dashboards, and multi-user access will be removed after the downgrade.
- Billing Transparency: SoftwarePac ensures transparent billing — no setup fees, no hidden costs. You can view invoices, manage renewals, and cancel anytime from your dashboard.
- Enterprise Customization: Enterprise customers receive a custom quote, invoicing flexibility (monthly or annual), and optional procurement support for large-scale deployments or compliance-driven environments.
What happens when I exceed 100 assets on the Free Plan?
Once you exceed 100 tracked assets, you’ll need to upgrade to the Pro Plan to continue adding or managing new items.
Do you offer discounts for teams or education?
Yes, we offer special pricing for both educational institutions and qualified teams:
- Educational Institutions: Schools, universities, and academic departments qualify for discounted pricing when using SoftwarePac for internal IT or lab asset management. Verification using an official education domain or institutional documentation is required.
- Non-Profit Organizations: Registered charities, NGOs, and humanitarian or research foundations are eligible for discounted pricing. Proof of non-profit status (e.g., 501(c)(3) certificate or local equivalent) must be provided at the time of application.
- Government & Public Sector: Local, state, and federal agencies, as well as public utilities and transport bodies, may qualify for special pricing based on procurement requirements or multi-site deployments.
- Large Teams & Volume Licensing: Organizations managing 5,000+ assets or 15+ users are eligible for volume-based discounts or custom enterprise pricing. Discounts scale with the number of seats or assets under management.
- Multi-Year Commitments: Customers who opt for annual or multi-year billing receive loyalty pricing—typically a 10–20% discount for upfront commitments.
- Startups & Early-Stage Companies: Verified startups (under 3 years old or below a defined revenue threshold) can apply for a startup discount. Proof of incorporation or domain verification may be required.

- How secure is my data? Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Pro and above plans include scheduled backups and multi-region redundancy for added protection.
- Access Control: SoftwarePac uses role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure that only authorized users can view or modify assets. Enterprise users can integrate with SSO and directory services like Azure AD or Okta.
- Data Privacy: We adhere to strict data protection standards and comply with major privacy regulations including GDPR. Your data is never shared with third parties without consent.
- Disaster Recovery: Premium and Enterprise plans include advanced recovery options, ensuring operational continuity in the event of system failure or data loss.
